David Knott
Managing Director
As the Founder and Managing Director of United Asset Recovery, David is responsible for sales, client account maintenance and overseeing all aspects of recovery efforts. The skills that he brings to his clients are the accumulation of more than two decades of successful entrepreneurial endeavors, over 12 years of collections experience, and more than six years of dedicated service in the unclaimed property industry.
David launched his first business, R.B. Express Messenger Service, Inc., at the age of 24. Six years later, the business was sold to San Diego's leading attorney service, Knox Services, in business since 1972. Prior to launching United Asset Recovery in 2005, David specialized in corporate collections for a San Diego based technology company. The varied skills acquired during his years in corporate collections have proven a valuable asset to the clients he serves today.
In 2009, David launched Positive Deeds Foundation, a non-profit organization, to work on community, national, and international issues. Other charitable work has included promotion & fund raising for a local chapter of a national grass roots tax reform organization and corporate ticket sales and marketing for the San Diego Blues Festival. Promoting the Blues Festival included work with companies such as BF Goodrich, Qualcomm, Nokia, BAE Systems, Callaway Golf, Cubic Corporation, Intuit, Solar Turbines, Kyocera America, Inc., Home Depot, and Unisys Corporation, among others.
Liz Decker
Research & Analysis
Liz conducts the research and analysis required prior to the submission of claims. This includes verification of asset ownership, with extensive background research on company history and business activities (or in the case of individuals, family trees), location of crucial supporting documents, and extensive searches for assets. After submission of claims, Liz monitors for additional assets belonging to our clients. Liz handles a variety of special and regular assignments in addition to her research role. She especially enjoys locating assets for private individuals who are are unaware they are owners of lost money or property.
Liz has over 30 years experience as an Executive Secretary/Assistant and has been the co-owner of 3 small businesses. Her first position was with the U.S. Government while living in Japan.
Brandi Duncan
Claims Processing
& Client Services
Brandi is responsible for the challenging task of preparing claims for submission, responding to requests for additional documentation, client correspondence, regular communications with states and various holder agencies, corporate account maintenance, and a variety of daily tasks required to keep our clients claims moving forward. Brandi is a Certified Paralegal with a degree from an ABA Accredited college program and a Social Sciences Major.
